I could see this being an on/off option because some people don't want to save every single photo, but I do. When taking in-app photos with iMessage for example (or Blackberry Messenger, when it was still public/free) it saves the photo I took to my library/gallery, too. I know I can go open the picture, click the share icon, then save to my phone, but I'm often taking several pictures at ones while troubleshooting issues and communicating via Teams with support, and the extra step seems unnecessary. If I take a photo from the camera link within the Teams chat, the picture won't save to my phone. Secondly, when using the Teams app on my iPhone, there should be a setting to save photos to my gallery. Teams already has the functionality to paste the photos in-line with the chats, but I can't view them from the Files tab (or anywhere else I can find). Step 1: Open the File Explorer and copy your favorite images that you want to use as a background for Microsoft Teams meetings. If I take a screenshot, I don't want to have to save that to a file, then click "Attach" within a chat and browse for my file to upload. I know I can upload the photos as "files" but this is NOT what I want. Ideally, this would be saved to a folder on Sharepoint or even somewhere in Teams, but there is no "auto-save" feature I've found. I want pictures from a chat to be accessible. This seems trivial, but I haven't been able to find a solution.
